
The Performance Recovery Blueprint: Bridging Fatigue and Performance: The presentation examines contemporary real-world challenges and opportunities that shape the strategy, implementation, and design for the delivery of individual performance recovery in professional team environments. With emphasis around the integration of individualising recovery in the wider performance model. A focus on how to utilise and interpret physical and mental fatigue monitoring, move beyond isolated interventions to maximise player wellbeing and readiness within competition, home and abroad, is provided. Examples of current performance recovery projects, strategies, and outcomes are presented.
Dr. Jill Alexander
is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Lead for the DProf and MProf in Elite Performance at the University of Lancashire, UK. She supervises doctoral candidates on performance and innovation topics in high-performance environments and is the Research and Funding Lead for the Football Performance Hub, with her research interests for the strategic delivery and individualisation of Performance Recovery in elite sport. She has published over 90 peer-reviewed publications and funding bids submitted to UEFA and FIFA. She is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Elite Sport Performance and has worked in a medical capacity in rugby union for nearly 20 years.
Her findings from her Ph.D. titled; Utilisation of Cryotherapy in Elite Sport: Understanding the Multifaceted Response, provides a framework for the optimisation of cryotherapy for injury, recovery and performance in sport. She has presented this work at the FIFA Medical Conferences, for Oklahoma City Thunder NBA Staff Education Programme, NBATA, NBA conferences and several FA Premier League clubs.
Jill provides independent Performance Recovery consultation (Concept Akeso Consultancy) to Championship, FA Premier League, European and International Football (Soccer) clubs. She currently leads several R&D projects within these environments developing club Performance Recovery ethos and philosophy frameworks to maximise their strategies and delivery of individual player and team Performance Recovery. Jill presents at key international conferences and has recently published with the FA Premier League, through funded consultancy research to aid the development of policy guidelines within the elite football environment.
